Happy Birthday Dad!

Today is a very special Birthday in my family, in fact it is my Dad's 60th Birthday!!!

It is hard to imagine what one accomplishes in 60 years, but my dad, the man that never stops, has accomplished quite a lot. Born in North Dakota and moved to Wisconsin as a little boy, he was raised in farm country USA. Learned to drive a tractor at 12, or close to that, born a hunter, son of the town Dentist, oldest sibling of 4, star football player, loving husband and the Best Dad a Daughter could have.

In 1948, the year my dad was born, Twelfth Street Rag by Pee Wee Hunt was the Number One Billboard Charts that year, Harry S. Truman won the election for President over Thomas E. Dewey, best picture of the year was Gentleman's Agreement, best original screenplay was Sidney Sheldon, The Bachelor and the Bobby - Soxer and Ford built the last of the all-wood sided Sportsman Convertibles with only 28 built that year.

In 2008, we are in another election year with Barack Obama and John McCain, a recession in the US, Paper Trail by T.I. is the Top song today, best picture of the year was No Country for Old Men and best original screenplay was Diablo Cody, Juno.

So today Dad, I want to say Thank You for being a wonderful Dad, for always being there for us, guiding us and teaching us the rights and wrongs in life, educating us on facts that you always seem to know (how I don't know but you do), and lastly for providing us with a wonderful home to grow up in! HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD!
