Hiatus, 40 and Friends

I have been on a bit of a hiatus from the blog due to lots of stuff, wish it were a trip around the world.

We have settled in to the house well and have unpacked most of the boxes, have had contractors over to get quotes to renovate our kitchen, dining room and living room, picked out and ordered cabinets, had an architect in for a few drawings of the space, and finally ordered floor tile and picked out the granite countertop this weekend. Life has been consumed by the renovation lately and demolition starts in two weeks.

During that time I officially hit the 40 lb. mark!!! I am feeling good about where I am but need to tone so have enlisted a personal trainer which starts tonight after work (god help me). I did an assessment of where I was three weeks ago and she told me my all important stats (BMI, Body Age, etc.). The funny part about the assessment is she said it would take about 45 min. so I planned accordingly and told Scott I would be home in about an hour. Well two hours later I came home and was EXHAUSTED. She neglected to tell me that we were going to workout after the assessment for another 45 minutes! Needless to say I was sore. That was on a Wed. and that Friday we were on a flight to Raleigh and I was just starting to be able to walk normally and not feel that sore anymore. You can ask me tomorrow if I regret my decision to do this or not. I will be working out with her at my house once a week for an hour every Monday. My goal is to drop another 5-10 lbs. and be toned.

We went to Raleigh to visit friends for the weekend in March/April. We were greeted at the airport and headed out to grab some lunch, a cold beer and catch up. We headed to a local brewery before heading to my brother's best friends house for dinner. The next day we went out for breakfast, looked at a few antiques, picked up some beer for our tailgate that afternoon and then what Heather didn't want to happen happened. Jason pulled the car slowly down this street where a fine local establishment is that he has been eyeing up. Jason the day before commented that he wanted to go in but there was some resistance so he pulled way. Not today. The car was going just the proper speed that the conversation went something like this

Scott- I am getting out and going

Jason (looking at Heather)- I can't stop him from going if he gets out of the car (unlocking the doors)

Scott- (door opens and off he goes)

Jason- I guess I need to go in to make sure he is OK

Heather- We aren't doing this

Jason- I can't leave him in there

Libby- I will go in with him

Jason- Let's park and just go in for one

Libby- I bet Scott has made some new friends already at the bar by the time we get in there

The three of us walk in and sure enough Scott has a High Life in his hand and is talking to the locals. We all order our $3 High Life's and grab a table and soak in the ambiance. People are starring at us and a guy comes over and says to Heather and Jason, "Your friend tells me you are moving to the neighborhood". I think at this point Jason was in heaven. A new local friend!

We left untraumatized and went back to get ready for the tailgate and the hockey game that night. All I will say is that the tailgate was awesome (as usual the Sanger's put on one hell of a tailgate). I will then leave you with a few pics before the game.
